Vaiśampāyana said: They saw splendid pleasure-grounds, rich in beauty, adorned with exquisitely variegated garlands and radiant in many ways, and charming to the eye as though they belonged to Kubera, the lord of wealth. The description underscores how extraordinary and almost otherworldly the setting was, evoking the opulence associated with the divine guardian of riches.

The verse primarily conveys a narrative-aesthetic point: extraordinary beauty and abundance can be expressed through comparison with a divine standard (Kubera’s wealth). Implicitly, it highlights how sensory splendor can signal an exceptional, possibly supernatural or royal, environment—inviting discernment about appearances and the sources of prosperity.
Vaiśampāyana describes the scene being encountered: magnificent recreational grounds, adorned with colorful garlands and scattered with gems, so visually enchanting that they seem like the domain of Kubera, the lord of wealth.
