Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas
#ट्डज #लइ (9) #:5- #:+- एकषष्ट्यधिकशततमो< ध्याय: कुबेरका गन्धमादन पर्वतपर आगमन और युधिष्छिरसे उनकी भेंट वैशम्पायन उवाच श्र॒त्वा बहुविधै: शब्दैर्नाद्यमानां गिरेगुहाम् । अजातशत्रुः कौन्तेयो माद्रीपुत्रावुभावपि,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! उस समय उस पर्वतकी गुफा नाना प्रकारके शब्दोंसे प्रतिध्वनित हो रही थी। वह प्रतिध्वनि सुनकर अजातशत्रु कुन्तीकुमार युधिष्ठिर, दोनों माद्री-पुत्र नकुल-सहदेव, पुरोहित धौम्य, द्रौपदी और समस्त ब्राह्मण तथा सुहृद--ये सभी भीमसेनको न देखनेके कारण बहुत उदास हो गये
vaiśampāyana uvāca | śrutvā bahuvidhaiḥ śabdair nādyamānāṃ gireḥ guhām | ajātaśatruḥ kaunteyo mādrīputrāv ubhāv api |
Vaiśampāyana said: Hearing the mountain-cave resounding with many kinds of sounds, Ajātaśatru—Yudhiṣṭhira, the son of Kuntī—together with both sons of Mādrī (Nakula and Sahadeva), as well as the priest Dhaumya, Draupadī, and the assembled brāhmaṇas and well-wishers, became deeply dejected, for they could not see Bhīmasena. The passage highlights the ethical texture of the Pāṇḍavas’ life in exile: solidarity and responsibility toward one another, and the anxiety that arises when a protector and brother is missing.
