While residing there, King Yudhiṣṭhira—steadfast in dharma—addressed his brothers, who were together with Draupadī, and also the accompanying brāhmaṇas. The scene frames Yudhiṣṭhira’s leadership as consultative and duty-bound: decisions are to be taken with regard for family, dependents, and the counsel of the learned.

Educational Q&A

Dharma-oriented leadership includes speaking and deciding in the presence of those affected—family and dependents—and valuing the guidance of the learned (dvijas), indicating responsibility beyond personal preference.

In their current residence (contextually, during the forest period), Yudhiṣṭhira begins to address his brothers along with Draupadī and the accompanying brāhmaṇas, setting up instructions or a decision for the group.
