Hanūmān’s Embrace, Counsel, and Promise to Amplify Bhīma’s Battle-Roar
Gandhamādana Continuation
इति श्रीमहा भारते वनपर्वणि तीर्थयात्रापर्वणि लोमशतीर्थयात्रायां कदलीषण्डे हनुमद्धीमसंवादे एकोनपञ्चाशदधिकशततमो<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate vanaparvaṇi tīrthayātrāparvaṇi lomaśatīrthayātrāyāṃ kadalīṣaṇḍe hanumaddhīmasaṃvāde ekonapañcāśadadhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus ends the one-hundred-and-forty-ninth chapter of the Vana Parva of the Mahābhārata, within the section on pilgrimage—Lomaśa’s account of sacred journeys—set in the Kadali grove, in the dialogue between Hanumān and Bhīma. The colophon frames the episode as a spiritually charged encounter during a tīrtha-yātrā, where strength is tempered by humility and guidance from an elder, divine kin.
