Bhīmasena–Hanūmān Saṃvāda: The Tail Test and the Divine Path
तच्छुभा शुभमासाद्य सौगन्धिकमनुत्तमम् । अतीव मुदिता राजन् भीमसेनमथाब्रवीत्,जनमेजय! वह कमल बड़ा मनोरम था, उससे दिव्य सुगन्ध फैल रही थी। शुभलक्षणा द्रौपदीने उसे देखा और वायुके द्वारा लाकर पृथ्वीपर डाले हुए उस पवित्र, शुभ एवं परम उत्तम सौगन्धिक कमलके पास पहुँचकर अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हो भीमसेनसे इस प्रकार कहा --
tacchubhā śubham āsādya saugandhikam anuttamam | atīva muditā rājan bhīmasenam athābravīt, janamejaya ||
Vaiśampāyana said: O King (Janamejaya), having reached that auspicious, supremely excellent saugandhika lotus, the virtuous Draupadī became exceedingly delighted and then spoke to Bhīmasena. The scene underscores how desire for a rare and fragrant object can set a new course of action, testing resolve and the boundaries of righteous conduct.
