“Has my dull-witted son perhaps gone to Raibhya? Tell me this at once, for my mind does not become calm.”
लोगश उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical weight of vigilance and responsibility in household/āśrama life: when signs feel amiss, one should seek the truth promptly and act with care, rather than letting anxiety and suspicion fester.
The speaker, troubled and unsettled, suspects that his simple-minded son may have gone to the sage Raibhya. He urgently asks a servant/messenger to confirm the situation, because his mind cannot find peace until he knows.
