Indra said: “O learned seer, the way by which you wish to proceed is not the proper path of study. What gain will there be for you, O brāhmaṇa, by disrupting (or destroying) the right course of sacred learning? Go—learn directly from the mouth of your teacher.”

Educational Q&A

Sacred learning should be pursued through the rightful method—humble study under a teacher’s direct instruction—rather than by shortcuts that obstruct or damage the proper discipline of svādhyāya.

Indra addresses a learned brāhmaṇa/seer who intends to proceed by an improper route for acquiring knowledge, warning that such a course is not the true path of study and directing him to learn from his guru’s mouth.
