Cyavana’s Reconciliation with Indra; Tīrtha-Indexing at Ārcīka-parvata and Yamunā
Chapter 125
yamau ca bhīmasenaś ca kṛṣṇā cāmitrakarśana | sarve cātra gamiṣyāmas tvayaiva saha pāṇḍava, rājan |
Lomasha said: “O subduer of foes, O Pāṇḍava king, the twin brothers Nakula and Sahadeva, Bhīmasena, and Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī)—indeed all of us—will go to this very place together with you. This is a sacred spot, remembered as a place where gods and seers partook of ritual offerings; nearby flows the Yamunā with its unfailing current. Here too the Lord Kṛṣṇa is said to have practiced austerities. Such holy places strengthen resolve, purify intention, and guide a ruler toward dharma through remembrance of divine and ṛṣi traditions.”
The verse emphasizes collective commitment to a dharmic journey: a ruler and his companions proceed together to a sacred place associated with gods, sages, and tapas. The ethical point is that remembrance of holy exemplars and tīrthas supports purity of purpose, steadiness, and right conduct in adversity.
The sage Lomasha addresses the Pāṇḍava king (Yudhiṣṭhira implied) and says that the twins Nakula–Sahadeva, Bhīma, Draupadī, and all companions will accompany him to that very sacred spot, which tradition connects with divine/ṛṣi worship and the nearby Yamunā.
