Lomaśa–Yudhiṣṭhira Dialogue
एष शर्यातियज्ञस्य देशस्तात प्रकाशते । साक्षाद् यत्रापिबत् सोममश्रिभ्यां सह कौशिक:,तात! यह राजा शर्यातिके यज्ञका स्थान प्रकाशित हो रहा है जहाँ साक्षात् इन्द्रने अश्विनीकुमारोंक साथ बैठकर सोमपान किया था
eṣa śaryātiyajñasya deśas tāta prakāśate | sākṣād yatrāpibat somam aśribhyāṃ saha kauśikaḥ ||
Lomaśa said: “Dear child, here the site of King Śaryāti’s sacrifice is clearly seen. It is the very place where Kauśika himself once drank the Soma together with the Aśvin twins.”
लोगश उवाच
The verse underscores the sanctity of places connected with righteous sacrifice and divine presence, suggesting that dharmic acts leave enduring, recognizable traces in the world and in cultural memory.
Lomaśa, guiding his listeners through sacred sites, points out the visible location of King Śaryāti’s sacrificial ground and recalls a celebrated event: Kauśika drank Soma there in the company of the Aśvin twins.
