तत्र भीमो महाबाहुर्वायुवेगपराक्रम: । आर्यामाश्वासयामास क्षातृ्श्चापि वृकोदर:,उस समय वहाँ वायुके समान वेग और पराक्रमवाले महाबाहु भीमसेनने आर्या कुन्ती तथा भाइयोंको आश्वासन देते हुए कहा--'पक्षियोंमें श्रेष्ठ विनतानन्दन गरुड जैसे उड़ा करते हैं, उसी प्रकार मैं भी तुम सबको लेकर यहाँसे चल दूँगा। अतः तुम्हें यहाँ तनिक भी भय नहीं है”
tatra bhīmo mahābāhur vāyuvega-parākramaḥ | āryām āśvāsayāmāsa kṣātr̥ṁś cāpi vṛkodaraḥ ||
There, Bhīma—mighty-armed, whose speed and prowess were like the wind—comforted the noble lady Kuntī; and Vṛkodara also reassured his kinsmen of the warrior line. He conveyed that they should not fear, for he would carry them onward from that place with the same assured power with which Garuḍa, foremost among birds, takes flight—thus placing courage and protection above panic in a moment of danger.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A leader’s dharma in crisis is to protect and steady others: Bhīma embodies kṣatriya responsibility by replacing fear with assurance, grounding courage in capability and commitment to family.
In the forest episode, Bhīma—described as wind-swift and powerfully valiant—consoles Kuntī and reassures his warrior kinsmen/brothers, promising safe passage onward and urging them not to be afraid.
