Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः
नैव मे पतय: सन्ति न पुत्रा न च बान्धवा: । न भ्रातरो न च पिता नैव त्वं मधुसूदन,“मधुसूदन! मेरे लिये न पति हैं, न पुत्र हैं, न बान्धव हैं, न भाई हैं, न पिता हैं और न आप ही हैं
naiva me patayaḥ santi na putrā na ca bāndhavāḥ | na bhrātaro na ca pitā naiva tvaṃ madhusūdana ||
The rākṣasa declares a total collapse of worldly support: “I have no husbands, no sons, no kin. I have neither brothers nor father—nor even you, O Madhusūdana.” In the narrative’s moral register, the line voices radical abandonment and the fear of being left without any rightful protector, exposing how attachment to social bonds can turn into despair when dharma and safety seem to fail.
