There, after bathing, King Yudhiṣṭhira—broad and red-eyed—together with his younger brothers, offered the rites of satisfaction (tarpana) to the hosts of gods and to the ancestors. In the same manner, Draupadī, the accompanying Brahmins, and the sage Lomaśa also bathed there and performed tarpana. The scene underscores the exiles’ steadfast adherence to dharma: even in hardship, they honor divine order, repay ancestral obligations, and maintain purity through prescribed rites.
