Adhyāya 112: Ṛṣyaśṛṅga’s Description of an Exemplary Brahmacārī
Ascetic Presence and Vow-Practice
yathā vanaṁ mādhavamāsi madhye samīritaṁ śvasanen eva bhāti | tathā sa bhāty uttama-puṇya-gandhī niṣevyamāṇaḥ pavanena tāta ||
R̥ṣyaśṛṅga said: “Just as a forest-grove, in the heart of the Mādhava month, shines when stirred by the life-breath-like breeze, so too that brahmacārin shone—fragrant with the finest, sanctifying scent—being attended and fanned by the Wind-god, dear child.” The verse frames purity and disciplined conduct as something that becomes visibly radiant when supported by auspicious, dharmic forces.
