मैत्रेयागमनम् — The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana
स चाप्येनं ततो रक्ष: प्रतिजग्राह वीर्यवान् । तमाक्षिपद् भीमसेनो बलेन बलिनां वर:,उस बलवान राक्षसने भी भीमसेनको दोनों भुजाओंसे पकड़ लिया; तब बलवानोंमें श्रेष्ठ भीमसेनने उसे बलपूर्वक दूर फेंक दिया
sa cāpy enaṃ tato rakṣaḥ pratijagrāha vīryavān | tam ākṣipad bhīmaseno balena balināṃ varaḥ ||
Then that mighty rākṣasa seized him firmly; but Bhīmasena—foremost among the strong—wrenched free and hurled the demon away by sheer force. The episode underscores that when confronted by violent aggression, steadfast courage and disciplined strength may be employed as a protective, righteous response rather than as cruelty.
विदुर उवाच
Strength is ethically meaningful when governed by dharma: it should be used to resist unjust aggression and protect, not to dominate or harm without cause.
A powerful rākṣasa grabs hold of Bhīmasena, and Bhīma responds by forcefully throwing the demon away, demonstrating superior might in a moment of direct confrontation.
