मैत्रेयागमनम् — The Arrival of Maitreya and the Admonition to Duryodhana
पदा सव्येन चिक्षेप तद् रक्ष: पुनराव्रजत् किर्मीरश्वापि सहसा वृक्षमुत्पाट्य पाण्डवम्
padā savyena cikṣepa tad rakṣaḥ punarāvrajat kirmīraś cāpi sahasā vṛkṣam utpāṭya pāṇḍavam
With his left foot he struck and flung the rākṣasa away; yet the demon returned again. Then Kirmīra, in a sudden rush of fury, tore up a tree and charged at the Pāṇḍava—an image of brute force meeting steadfast valor in the forest ordeal.
विदुर उवाच
The verse highlights steadfast courage and resilience when confronted by recurring violence: even after repelling danger, one must remain vigilant and composed, meeting brute force with disciplined strength rather than panic.
A Pāṇḍava forcefully throws a rākṣasa away with a kick, but the demon returns. Kirmīra then uproots a tree and rushes to attack, escalating the confrontation in the forest.
