यस्मात्‌ त्वं मामनादृत्य नेमां वाचं चिकीर्षसि । तस्मादस्याभिमानस्य सद्यः: फलमवाप्लुहि,“दुर्योधन! तू मेरा अनादर करके मेरी बात मानना नहीं चाहता; अतः तू इस अभिमानका तुरंत फल पा ले

yasmāt tvaṁ mām anādṛtya nemāṁ vācaṁ cikīrṣasi | tasmād asyābhimānasya sadyaḥ phalam avāpluhi ||

Because you disregard me and refuse to carry out these words, therefore—O Duryodhana—receive at once the immediate consequence of this pride. The statement frames arrogance and contempt for wise counsel as a moral fault that ripens quickly into suffering.
