Where the mighty, radiant king—Dharma’s son—stood, there came Indra together with the hosts of the Maruts and Vasus, the two Aśvin twins, the Sādhyas, Rudras, and Ādityas, along with other celestial dwellers, Siddhas, and great seers. All assembled at the very spot where the illustrious Dharma-born king Yudhiṣṭhira was standing. Then Śakra, lord of the gods, endowed with supreme splendor, (approached/appeared).

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores that steadfast adherence to dharma culminates in recognition by the cosmic order itself: the righteous king is honored not merely by humans but by the full hierarchy of divine and perfected beings, suggesting that ethical integrity has transcendent consequences.

At the point where Yudhiṣṭhira stands (in the ascent-to-heaven episode), Indra arrives accompanied by multiple classes of gods, Siddhas, and great seers, forming a grand celestial assembly; then Indra, radiant with supreme splendor, comes forward.
