स्त्रीपर्व — नवमोऽध्यायः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra summons the Kuru women; the city departs in collective lamentation
उत्तिष्ठ राजन् कि शेषे मा शुचो भरतर्षभ | एषा वै सर्वसत्त्वानां लोकेश्वर परा गति:,“राजन्! उठिये, क्यों सो रहे हैं? भरतश्रेष्ठ] शोक न कीजिये। लोकनाथ! समस्त प्राणियोंकी यही अन्तिम गति है
uttiṣṭha rājan ki śeṣe mā śuco bharatarṣabha | eṣā vai sarvasattvānāṁ lokeśvara parā gatiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “Rise, O King—why do you lie thus? Do not grieve, O bull among the Bharatas. O Lord of the world, this indeed is the final course appointed for all living beings.”
