Gandhārī’s Confrontation and Consolation of Yudhiṣṭhira

तथाप्यप्रियमस्माकं पुत्रस्ते समुपाचरत्‌ । द्रौपद्या यत्‌ सभामध्ये सव्यमूरुमदर्शयत्‌,“आपके पुत्रने तो हम सब लोगोंका इससे भी बढ़कर अप्रिय किया था कि उसने भरी सभामें द्रौपदीको अपनी बाँयीं जाँच दिखायी

tathāpy apriyam asmākaṁ putras te samupācarat | draupadyā yat sabhāmadhye savyam ūrum adarśayat ||

Vaiśampāyana said: “Even so, your son committed something even more offensive to us: in the midst of the full assembly, he displayed his left thigh to Draupadī.” The statement recalls a deliberate public insult—an act of shamelessness and humiliation—presented as a grave ethical transgression that deepened enmity and hastened the collapse of dharma in the Kuru court.
