Pacification of Gāndhārī and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel at Hāstinapura

sopāsaḍraḥ saraśmiś ca sāśvaḥ sayugabandhuraḥ | bhasmī bhūto 'patad bhūmau ratho gāṇḍīvadhanañjayaḥ ||

Sañjaya said: Arjuna’s chariot—together with its fittings, reins, horses, yoke, and the pole that binds the team—was reduced to ashes and fell upon the earth. The scene underscores the grim law of war: even the most celebrated instruments of righteous struggle are impermanent, and when their sustaining protection is withdrawn, they collapse into ruin.
