Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Having obtained the command of the gods’ army, the radiant Skanda blazed with his own splendor and shone like a second fire. Then, attended by the divine attendants and accompanied by the Mother-goddesses, he proceeded—his presence embodying sanctioned power placed in the service of cosmic order.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Legitimate authority (senāpatitva) is portrayed as inseparable from tejas—inner power disciplined for a higher order. Skanda’s radiance symbolizes sanctioned strength used to uphold cosmic stability rather than personal ambition.
Vaiśaṃpāyana describes Skanda after he is appointed commander of the gods’ army. Skanda shines like a second fire (Agni) and is then shown moving forward accompanied by divine attendants and the Mother-goddesses.
