कुमाराभिषेकप्रश्नः — Inquiry into Kumāra (Skanda) Investiture at Sarasvatī
ततः सा सर्वमाचष्ट यथावृत्तं प्रवेषती । दुःखितामथ तां दृष्टवा ऊचुस्ते वै तपोधना:,तब काँपती हुई सरस्वतीने सारा वृत्तान्त यथार्थ रूपसे कह सुनाया। उसे दुःखी देख वे तपोधन महर्षि उससे बोले--
tataḥ sā sarvam ācāṣṭa yathāvṛttaṁ praveśatī | duḥkhitām atha tāṁ dṛṣṭvā ūcus te vai tapodhanāḥ ||
Then she—entering (their presence)—truthfully recounted the entire account exactly as it had occurred. Seeing her distressed, those ascetics rich in austerity addressed her with words of counsel.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights truthful reporting (yathāvṛttam) and compassionate response: when someone speaks honestly about painful events, the wise—especially those disciplined by tapas—respond with counsel rather than indifference.
Sarasvatī, trembling and sorrowful, approaches and narrates the full sequence of events as they occurred. Observing her grief, the ascetic sages (tapodhanāḥ) begin to address her, setting up their advice or inquiry in the following lines.
