Trita in the Well (Udapāna-kathā) — Balarāma’s Tīrtha Observances

tataḥ prajāpatiḥ sarvā visasarjātha devatāḥ | somaṃ ca bhagavān prīto bhūyo vacanam abravīt ||

Then Prajāpati dismissed all the assembled gods. Pleased, the venerable Soma again addressed him with further words—continuing the counsel that follows in the narrative.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights orderly conduct in deliberation: once a divine assembly has served its purpose, it is formally dismissed, and the principal interlocutors continue the discussion. It underscores propriety, hierarchy, and clarity in counsel—elements closely tied to dharma in governance and decision-making.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Prajāpati sends away all the gods who were present. After the assembly disperses, Soma—pleased—speaks again to Prajāpati, indicating that further instruction or dialogue is about to follow.
