Adhyāya 33: Rauhiṇeya (Balarāma) is welcomed and takes his seat to witness the gadā-engagement
न तथा धार्तराष्ट्रस्य मा कार्षीमाधव व्यथाम् | अहमेनं हि गदया संयुगे 80 किक मुत्सहे,मेरी यह गदा दुर्योधनकी डेढ़गुनी भारी है। ऐसी दुर्योधनकी गदा नहीं है, अतः माधव! आप व्यथित न हों। मैं समरांगणमें इस गदाद्वारा इससे भिड़नेका उत्साह रखता हूं
na tathā dhārtarāṣṭrasya mā kārṣī mādhava vyathām | aham enaṃ hi gadayā saṃyuge kṛtum utsahe |
Bhīmasena said: “Do not grieve so for Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son, O Mādhava. For I have the resolve to meet him in battle with my mace.”
भीमसेन उवाच
Steadfast resolve in a righteous duty: Bhīma urges Kṛṣṇa not to be anxious about Duryodhana, affirming his own preparedness to confront him directly. The ethical tone emphasizes courage and commitment to one’s pledged role in the dharma-oriented conflict.
On the eve of the climactic mace-combat, Bhīma addresses Kṛṣṇa (Mādhava), telling him not to worry about Duryodhana (Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son). Bhīma declares his readiness and confidence to engage Duryodhana in single combat with the mace.
