Even amid conflict, ethical communication and compassionate discernment are praised: conveying the right matter to all concerned and responding with karuṇā (compassion) is presented as a kingly virtue.
Sañjaya narrates that a heroic figure (mahābāhu) reports a particular message to both sides; the king, characterized as consistently compassionate, is pleased by this act of communication.
