अचोदयद्धयान् राजन् दुर्योधनबल प्रति | राजन्! यशस्वी पाण्डुपुत्र अर्जुके ऐसा कहनेपर दशार्हकुलनन्दन श्रीकृष्णने दुर्योधनकी सेनाकी ओर घोड़े बढ़ा दिये
sañjaya uvāca | acodayad dhayān rājan duryodhana-bala prati |
Sañjaya said: O King, he urged the horses forward toward Duryodhana’s army. Thus, at Arjuna’s words, Kṛṣṇa—the illustrious scion of the Dāśārha line—drove the chariot toward the Kaurava host, embodying resolute duty in the midst of war.
संजय उवाच
Even amid violent conflict, action is framed as disciplined duty: the charioteer’s controlled advance symbolizes steadiness, obedience to rightful command, and purposeful engagement rather than impulsive aggression.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the chariot is driven forward; at Arjuna’s prompting, Kṛṣṇa urges the horses toward Duryodhana’s forces, moving the protagonists into direct confrontation.
