द्विषतो भीमसेनस्य क्रुद्धस्य वशमेष्यथ । पितामहैराचरितं न धर्म हातुमरहथ,“हमारा शत्रु भीमसेन क्रोधमें भरा हुआ है। यदि भागोगे तो उसके वशमें पड़कर मारे जाओगे; अतः अपने बाप-दादोंके द्वारा आचरणमें लाये हुए क्षत्रिय-धर्मका परित्याग न करो
sañjaya uvāca | dviṣato bhīmasenasya kruddhasya vaśam eṣyatha | pitāmahair ācaritaṃ na dharmaṃ hātum arhatha ||
Sañjaya said: “Bhīmasena, your enemy, is blazing with anger. If you flee, you will fall into his power and be slain. Therefore, do not abandon the kṣatriya-dharma practiced and upheld by your forefathers.”
संजय उवाच
One should not abandon one’s rightful duty—here, the warrior’s code of standing firm in battle—especially when flight leads to greater danger and dishonor; ancestral standards of conduct are invoked as an ethical anchor.
Sañjaya reports a warning addressed to warriors facing Bhīma: since Bhīma is enraged, retreat will only place them under his control and result in death; they are urged to hold their ground and maintain kṣatriya-dharma.
