Sañjaya said: “O King, in this manner the great battle of the rulers of the earth swelled ever more. For Arjuna and Karṇa were enraged, and so too was Bhīmasena, the Pāṇḍava; and their wrath drove the conflict to intensify.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger (krodha) among leading warriors becomes a catalyst that magnifies violence. Ethically, it points to the danger of wrath overriding restraint and discernment, causing war to intensify beyond measure.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the battle among the earth’s kings is growing fiercer because Arjuna, Karṇa, and Bhīma are all inflamed with anger, driving the fighting to escalate.
