तत्र तत्रैव धावन्त: समदृश्यन्त भारत । भरतनन्दन! उनके रथका सारथि धराशायी हो चुका था, इसलिये उनके घोड़े युद्धस्थलमें बेलगाम भागने लगे। वे विभिन्न स्थानोंमें भागते हुए ही दिखायी दे रहे थे || २५ हे युधिष्ठिरपुरोगास्तु द्रौणिं शस्त्रभृतां वरम्
tatra tatraiva dhāvantaḥ samadṛśyanta bhārata |
Sañjaya said: “O Bhārata, they were seen rushing about here and there on that very battlefield.” The line conveys the disarray that follows when control and guidance collapse in war—when the charioteer falls, the horses run uncontrolled, and the warrior’s purpose is momentarily swallowed by chaos.
संजय उवाच
Even in a righteous cause, outcomes depend on discipline and guidance; when the guiding agent (like a charioteer) is lost, force becomes directionless, illustrating how dharma in action requires control, competence, and steadiness amid conflict.
Sañjaya reports that combatants (or chariots) are seen rushing about in different directions on the battlefield, suggesting confusion and uncontrolled movement in the midst of the fighting.
