Bhīma’s surge and dialogue with charioteer Viśoka

Sañjaya said: When the army was being cut down, and the Pāṇḍava host began to be slain, the great chariot-warriors—the sons of Draupadī, along with Sātyaki, King Yudhiṣṭhira, and the Pāñcāla troops—formed up in a body. Casting aside the dreadful fear of death, they surged upon Droṇa’s son. In the moral atmosphere of the epic, this moment shows disciplined solidarity and resolve: fear is subordinated to duty toward one’s side and to the immediate necessity of checking a devastating foe.
