Adhyāya 35 — Bhīmasena’s Counter-Encirclement and the Karṇa Engagement Escalation

Sanjaya said: “O king of Madra, take firm control of Karna’s excellent horses in the battle. With you guarding him, Radheya (Karna) will surely defeat Dhananjaya (Arjuna).” The verse underscores how victory in war is portrayed as depending not only on personal valor but also on disciplined charioteering, protection, and coordinated support—raising the ethical tension of staking triumph on skill and alliance amid a fratricidal conflict.
