Sañjaya said: “Those foremost heroes of the world on our side—great chariot-warriors, godlike in prowess, renowned everywhere, prudent in conduct, well-equipped in resources, capable in action, and devoted to their lord—have all been slain. Even so, we should not sink into despair regarding our own victory.”

Even after catastrophic losses of renowned and capable allies, one should not abandon resolve; leadership requires steadiness of mind and refusal to collapse into despair, especially in a dharmic-ethical frame where courage and duty are emphasized.
Sañjaya reports to the Kaurava side that many of their celebrated, godlike great warriors—known for prudence, resources, skill, and loyalty—have been killed, yet he urges that they should not become hopeless about achieving victory.
