Sañjaya said: Ghaṭotkaca, in the same manner, advanced in battle against that heroic Rākṣasa Alāyudha. Though Alāyudha was exceedingly swift in combat, Ghaṭotkaca met him head-on, adopting a measured, middle pace—signaling controlled resolve rather than reckless fury amid the violence of war.

Educational Q&A

Even amid warfare, the verse highlights disciplined engagement: Ghaṭotkaca does not rush blindly but adopts a measured pace. The ethical suggestion is that courage is strengthened by restraint and tactical clarity, not merely by uncontrolled aggression.

Sañjaya describes Ghaṭotkaca moving to confront his opponent, the heroic Rākṣasa Alāyudha. Although Alāyudha is portrayed as extremely swift in battle, Ghaṭotkaca advances to meet him, choosing a moderate, controlled momentum as the duel begins.
