sañjaya uvāca | vivasvān bhagavān svasti karotu tava sarvaśaḥ | diggajāś caiva catvāraḥ kṣitiś ca gagana-grahāḥ ||

Sañjaya said: May the blessed Vivasvān (the Sun) grant you well-being in every way. And may the four directional elephants, the Earth itself, and the heavenly powers that move through the sky likewise be auspicious to you. In the midst of war’s peril, this utterance functions as a protective benediction—invoking cosmic order and stability as a moral counterweight to violence and uncertainty.

Sañjaya offers a formal blessing, calling upon Vivasvān and other cosmic supports to grant well-being. Such benedictory lines often frame or punctuate tense war reports, providing a ritualized moment of protection and moral grounding.
