Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 96: Sātyaki’s Line-Penetration, Encirclement, and Advance toward Arjuna
na kṛṣṇo na ca kaunteyo na cānyaḥ śastrabhṛd raṇe | śarān arpayituṃ kaścit kavace tava śakṣyati ||
Duryodhana said: “Neither Kṛṣṇa nor the son of Kuntī (Arjuna), nor any other weapon-bearing warrior in battle, will be able to lodge arrows into you—so long as you wear this armor.” In the moral atmosphere of the war, the line reflects Duryodhana’s reliance on material protections and tactical assurances, seeking invulnerability through equipment rather than through righteousness or restraint.
