Droṇa Interdicts Sātyaki; Sātyaki’s Breakthrough and Duel with Kṛtavarmā (द्रोण-निवारणम्, सात्यकि-प्रवेशः, कृतवर्म-युद्धम्)
नामन्यत तदा कृष्णो राजानं पाण्डवं पुरा । न भीष्म नैव च द्रोणं यथा त्वां मन्यतेडच्युत:,अपनी महिमासे च्युत न होनेवाले भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण पहले आपका जैसा सम्मान करते थे, वैसा उन्होंने पाण्डुपुत्र राजा युधिष्ठिर, भीष्म तथा द्रोणाचार्यका भी समादर नहीं किया है
sañjaya uvāca | nāmanyata tadā kṛṣṇo rājānaṃ pāṇḍavaṃ purā | na bhīṣmaṃ naiva ca droṇaṃ yathā tvāṃ manyate 'cyutaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Formerly, Kṛṣṇa did not hold even the Pāṇḍava king in such esteem—nor Bhīṣma, nor Droṇa—as the unfailing Acyuta now regards you. The remark underscores how Kṛṣṇa’s recognition is not merely ceremonial but reflects a moral and strategic valuation of the person addressed amid the pressures of war and duty.
