Sātyaki’s Assurance and the Protection of Dharmarāja (सात्यकिवचनम्—धर्मराजरक्षणविचारः)
स त्वमद्य महाबाहो राजानं परिपालय । यथैव हि मया गुप्तस्त्वया गुप्तो भवेत् तथा,“महाबाहो! आज तुम्हीं राजा युधिष्ठिरकी सब ओरसे रक्षा करो। जिस प्रकार वे मेरे द्वारा सुरक्षित होते हैं, उसी प्रकार तुम्हारे द्वारा भी उनकी सुरक्षा हो सकती है
sa tvam adya mahābāho rājānaṃ paripālaya | yathaiva hi mayā guptas tvayā gupto bhavet tathā ||
Sañjaya said: “Therefore, O mighty-armed one, today you must guard the king on every side. For just as he has been kept safe by me, so too may he be kept safe by you.”
संजय उवाच
In the midst of war, dharma is upheld by safeguarding rightful leadership: the king’s security is presented as a moral and strategic duty, entrusted from one protector to another.
Sañjaya urges a heroic addressee to take over the immediate responsibility of protecting King Yudhiṣṭhira, stating that the king can be kept safe by the addressee just as he had been protected by Sañjaya.
