Drona–Dhrishtadyumna Battle Description
एवं गुणशतैर्युक्तो भूगूणां कीर्तिवर्धन:
evaṁ guṇaśatair yukto bhṛgūṇāṁ kīrtivardhanaḥ
Nārada said: “Thus endowed with hundreds of virtues, he became one who increased the fame and renown of the Bhṛgus.”
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights an ethical ideal: personal excellence is measured by cultivated virtues, and such virtue does not remain private—it uplifts one’s community and lineage by increasing their good name (kīrti).
Nārada is describing a figure celebrated for many virtues, emphasizing that his conduct and qualities enhanced the reputation of the Bhṛgu family line.
