हिमावदातान् यः सिंहान् नखदंष्टायुधान् बली । निर्वीर्यास्तरसा कृत्वा विचकर्ष बबन्ध च
himāvadātān yaḥ siṁhān nakhadaṁṣṭrāyudhān balī | nirvīryās tarasā kṛtvā vicakarṣa babandha ca
Nārada said: The mighty one subdued those snow-white lions—armed with claws and fangs—stripping them of their strength by sheer force; he dragged them away and bound them fast. The verse highlights controlled power: true prowess is shown not merely in killing, but in mastering violent forces and restraining them when needed.
नारद उवाच
Strength is ethically meaningful when it can subdue and restrain destructive power; mastery includes the capacity to bind and control rather than merely destroy.
Nārada describes a mighty figure overpowering fierce, snow-white lions—whose natural weapons are claws and fangs—rendering them helpless, dragging them, and binding them.
