Arjuna’s advance; deaths of Śrutāyudha and Sudakṣiṇa

tatra sama sūdāḥ krośanti sumṛṣṭamaṇikuṇḍalāḥ

There, the charioteers cried out loudly—adorned with well-polished jeweled earrings—raising a clamor amid the turmoil. The scene underscores how war’s chaos draws even attendants and drivers into fear and lament, revealing the human cost that spreads beyond the principal warriors.
