Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 58: Yudhiṣṭhira’s dawn rites, royal gifts, and the reception of Kṛṣṇa
तेन यज्जैर्बहुविधैरिष्टं पर्याप्तदक्षिणै: । स राजा वीर्यवान् धीमानवाप्य वसु पुष्कलम्
tena yajjair bahuvidhair iṣṭaṃ paryāptadakṣiṇaiḥ | sa rājā vīryavān dhīmān avāpya vasu puṣkalam ||
Nārada said: “By means of those many kinds of sacrifices—performed with gifts to the priests in full measure—that king, valiant and wise, obtained abundant wealth. The verse underscores the ethical ideal that prosperity is to be sought through duly completed rites and generous giving, not through coercion or injustice.”
