Sañjaya said: Eager to achieve their aim, the strike-ready warriors—having their forces arrayed in battle formation—charged forward. In the unfolding scene, the Pāṇḍava leaders and their allies surge ahead on the battlefield, intent on breaking into the enemy’s formation by the very path Abhimanyu had opened, driven by duty to protect him and by the urgent ethics of comradeship amid war.

In a dharmic war context, the verse highlights kṣatriya resolve and collective responsibility: warriors act decisively, organizing themselves and moving together to protect a comrade and pursue a just objective, showing that courage and disciplined strategy must accompany loyalty and duty.
Sañjaya reports that the warriors, with their troops arranged in formation, rush forward to strike. In the surrounding narrative, the Pāṇḍavas and allies advance in anger and urgency, aiming to enter the enemy’s vyūha by the route Abhimanyu created, in order to support and safeguard him.
