Abhimanyu’s Prowess and the Duḥśāsana Engagement
vāsudevād upāttaṃ yad astraṃ yac ca dhanañjayāt | adarśayat tat kārṣṇiḥ kṛṣṇābhyām aviśeṣavat ||
Sañjaya said: Whatever weapon Abhimanyu had received from Vāsudeva and whatever he had obtained from Dhanañjaya (Arjuna), all that the son of Kṛṣṇa (Abhimanyu) displayed on the battlefield without distinction—wielding those divine and heroic arts as though he were equal to Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna themselves. The verse underscores how training and grace, when joined to courage, can make a young warrior manifest the very standards of his teachers, even amid the moral strain of war.
