Abhimanyu advances toward Droṇa’s host
nāhaṃ pārthena jātaḥ syāṃ na ca jātaḥ subhadrayā | yadi me saṃyuge kaścid jīvito nādya mucyate ||
Bhīma declares with a fierce vow that if even a single warrior who fights him today in battle escapes alive, then he would deny his own lineage—he would not be born of Pārtha (Arjuna) nor from Subhadrā. The statement heightens the ethical intensity of the moment: it is a warrior’s oath of uncompromising resolve, binding personal honor and family identity to the outcome of righteous combat.
