निहतौ भ्रातरौ दृष्टवा मायाशतविशारद: । कृष्णौ सम्मोहयन् मायां विदधे शकुनिस्तत:,अपने दोनों भाइयोंको मारा गया देख सैकड़ों मायाओंके प्रयोगमें निपुण शकुनिने श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुनको मोहित करते हुए उनके प्रति मायाका प्रयोग किया
nihatāu bhrātarau dṛṣṭvā māyāśataviśāradaḥ | kṛṣṇau sammohayan māyāṃ vidadhe śakunistasthaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Seeing his two brothers slain, Śakuni—skilled in deploying hundreds of deceptive stratagems—cast an illusion to bewilder Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna. In the moral atmosphere of the war, this highlights how grief and vengeance can drive one to adharma through deceit rather than open, righteous combat.
