Sañjaya said: Then Satyajit, the great archer of unfailing valor, while displaying his supreme weapon-skill, struck Droṇācārya with a sharp-pointed arrow, wounding him. The scene underscores how, in the frenzy of righteous war, even the most revered teacher becomes a target when duty to one’s side and the demands of battle override personal reverence.

The verse highlights the ethical strain of dharma in war: personal reverence (toward a revered teacher like Droṇa) is subordinated to kṣatriya-duty and battlefield obligation, showing how righteous conflict can force painful actions against respected figures.
Sañjaya reports that Satyajit, a powerful archer, demonstrates his highest weapon-skill and pierces Droṇa with a sharp arrow, injuring him amid the fighting.
