पराक्रमस्ते कौन्तेय शक्रस्येव शचीपते: । न चाति वर्तसे धर्म वेलामिव महोदधि:,“कुन्तीनन्दन! तुम्हारा पराक्रम शचीपति इन्द्रके समान है। महासागर जैसे अपनी तट- भूमिका उल्लंघन नहीं करता, उसी प्रकार तुम भी कभी धर्म-मर्यादाका उल्लंघन नहीं करते हो
parākramas te kaunteya śakrasy eva śacīpateḥ | na cātivartase dharma-velām iva mahodadhiḥ ||
Sañjaya said: “O son of Kuntī, your prowess is like that of Śakra (Indra), the lord of Śacī. And just as the great ocean does not overstep its shoreline, so you never transgress the boundary of dharma.”
संजय उवाच
True heroism is not merely power (parākrama) but disciplined power: even in war, one should not cross the moral boundary (dharma-velā), just as the ocean remains within its shore.
Sañjaya, narrating events to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, praises Arjuna (Kaunteya), comparing his valor to Indra’s and emphasizing that Arjuna’s conduct remains within the limits of dharma.
