Sañjaya said: “All learning is gathered in one place in the Teacher (Droṇa); but in the son of Pāṇḍu (Arjuna) there is learning together with disciplined yogic mastery. Likewise, all valor is concentrated in one place in the Teacher; but in Arjuna there are both valor and strength.”

Excellence is not only the possession of a single supreme quality (as in the preceptor’s concentrated learning and valor) but also the integration of complementary powers—knowledge joined with yoga (disciplined mastery) and valor joined with strength—making capability more complete in action.
Sañjaya, narrating the battle to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, contrasts Droṇa’s concentrated mastery with Arjuna’s combined qualities, highlighting why Arjuna can match or surpass even a legendary teacher in the unfolding combat of Droṇa Parva.
