एवमुक्तो महाबाहु: पार्थ: पुष्करलोचन: । आजुहावाथ तद् रक्षस्तच्चासीत् प्रादुरग्रत:
evam ukto mahābāhuḥ pārthaḥ puṣkaralocanaḥ | ājuhāvātha tad rakṣas tac cāsīt prādur agrataḥ ||
Thus addressed, the mighty-armed Pārtha (Arjuna), lotus-eyed, then invoked that rākṣasa; and it immediately manifested before him. The passage underscores the grave, war-bound urgency in which a warrior, having received counsel, acts decisively—summoning formidable aid to meet an ethical and strategic necessity on the battlefield.
श्रीवायुदेव उवाच
When counsel or instruction is received in a critical situation, a responsible agent must act with clarity and resolve. In a war context, this can include seeking extraordinary assistance, but the emphasis remains on purposeful action aligned with duty and necessity.
After being addressed (by Vāyudeva in the surrounding narration), Arjuna invokes a particular rākṣasa, and that being appears directly before him, indicating the immediate effectiveness of the summons and the escalation of supernatural or exceptional forces within the battle narrative.
