नारायणास्त्र-शमनं द्रौणि-प्रहारश्च

शरजालावृतं व्योम चक्रतुस्ती महारथौ । मेघाविव तपापाये वीरौ समरदुर्मदौ

Transliteration

śarajālāvṛtaṁ vyoma cakratuḥ stau mahārathau | meghāv iva tapāpāye vīrau samaradurmadau ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Those two great chariot-warriors so filled the sky with a net of arrows that it seemed like clouds gathering at the end of the hot season. Both heroes, intoxicated with the fury of battle, pressed the fight on with relentless force—an image of war’s overwhelming momentum rather than restraint.
